From our original post:
We thought that it would be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate this internationally celebrated event on a more community level by making this video showcasing the perspectives, stories and values of some of our African American Hornets.
In this video, you’ll hear from folks throughout the District, and we made this video with the twin goals- to celebrate, and to educate.
As we are sure you all agree—
When we get right down to it, we all find our true, resilient strength in our diversity.
We all have unique backgrounds, and we find the best version of ourselves- as individuals and as a community- when we come together as one.
We all belong, and we are all necessary, to make Huntsville ISD a home, and a success, for everyone.
We are grateful to have been able to include 30 interviewees in this video!
That said, we consider this just a small sample of the rich diversity of experiences and perspectives of our African American Hornet Family.
Check it out at the link- you may need to copy and paste into a browser

We hope you enjoy the video! Sting ‘Em Hornets!

They did AGAIN and secured the Bi-Disrict Championship earlier tonight when they beat Splendora, 81-36!!!
WOWOWOW- they took care of business tonight! Next up, they will face the winner of tomorrow night’s game between Barber’s Hill vs Friendswood in the Area Playoffs!
We’ll have photos to share later, but tonight- we share the team moments after the buzzer and a shot of that final score on the scoreboard!

It takes a special person to be a police officer- and it takes a special police officer to choose to serve at a school. Our officers protect our students while building relationships that strengthen our campuses.
Thank you for all you do for Huntsville ISD!
By the way, Huntsville High School’s The Hive recently profiled two our officers, check out the link here: https://sites.google.com/huntsville-isd.org/the-hive-newspaper/news/officers-and-much-more?authuser=0

When we stopped by the Ms. Wockenfuss’ classroom after school, she was quizzing the Floriculture Team in preparation for their first competition next week. Floriculture is one of the many Career Development Events (CDEs) offered through FFA at Huntsville High, and our teachers work with their students throughout the competition season.
By the way, both students were right! That plant goes by Caspia or Misty Blue-- but of course, you knew that!
