BYOT Day @ MPMS & HHS

Thursday, May 17th, will be Bring Your Own Technology "BYOT" Day at Mance Park Middle School & Huntsville High School.  Students will be allowed to bring their own personal technology devices to school for use as learning tools without risk of disciplinary consequence. Students will be expected to use devices responsibly during the school day, and should only use them when teachers have directed them do so. This "BYOT" Day will extend to the HISD Transportation Department as well. Students will not receive any disciplinary action for having, displaying, or using their devices responsibly while on HISD buses from May 17th through May 31st. Devices brought to school, or on the bus will be done so at the student's own risk.  Questions about "BYOT" Day, should be directed to the student's campus office.

The May Regular Meeting of the HISD Board of Trustees will be held in the Huntsville High School Auditorium on Thursday, May 17th starting at 6 PM.  Public comment is always welcome (click here for procedures). Please join us!

2012-13 Freshman Parents

Parents of Huntsville High School 2012-2013 FRESHMAN are invited to a Come & Go Q&A session with the HHS Counseling Staff to discuss scheduling for the upcoming school year. This will be held on Friday, May 18th from 7 AM to 4 PM in the HHS Library. For more information contact 435-6100.

Community Mtg

The community is invited to an information meeting to learn about HISD's new Bring Your Own Technology (BYOT) initiative on Monday, May 21st starting at 6 PM in the Mance Park Middle School Commons, 1010 8th Street. The meeting will include a short presentation followed by a Q&A session.

Please make plans to join us, especially if you are a parent of a current HISD 6th - 11th grader.

Parent Email Update

Go Green with HISD!!!  Parents please complete the Parent Email Update (to access CLICK HERE) before June 2, 2012, to verify and/or add your email address.  All currently enrolled students will be required to use the Online Student Registration System for next year's registration.  (**A Paper Registration Process will only be allowed for new students to the district.**)    Based on the email information we have on file for you, in August an email will be sent to you with instructions for you to proceed with the Online Registration Process for your student(s).
