Student Registration Information Update for Summer 2023

We are excited to share that we have transitioned to a new Student Information System (SIS) for the 2023-2024 school year.  SIS systems are used to house all student demographic, parent/guardian, grades, attendance, discipline, as well as many other important pieces of information that assist us in serving your students and allowing you access to vital information within the Skyward Family Access Center (formerly HAC).  

6/28/2023 UPDATE
The new Online Registration for RETURNING Students OPENS today, Wednesday, June 28, 2023 and will remain open through Saturday, July 29, 2023.

Please monitor the email address that you have on file with the district for an email message with the instructions for you to follow in the new system with your new login credentials.

RETURNING STUDENT REGISTRATION:

Online Registration for RETURNING HISD STUDENTS -
Returning HISD Students are encouraged to Register through the NEW Skyward Parent HUB Family Access Center (formerly HAC) 24-hours a day from Wednesday, June 21, 2023 through Saturday, July 29, 2023. Once the Family Access Center opens, you will receive an email with your new username and password.  See instructions below.

Instructions for Returning Student Registration in Skyward 

  • You will receive an email from Skyward with your login information. This will be sent to the email that the district has on file for guardians. Please check your SPAM or JUNK folder if you have not received the email.

  • Open Skyward and select the Family Access option. A dashboard will open. Choose the 2023-24 Registration tile and begin. Skywards Family Access System

  • Skyward will lead you, step-by-step, through the registration process.

Registration for each student will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. If you have multiple students, enroll one student at a time. Some information will be shared on the record for each of your students.

If you experience difficulties, or if you did not access the parent portal in previous years, please complete the google form that will include your contact information (email) and a description of your issue. We will address issues in the order of which they are received.  Report an issue

Any parent/guardian who needs assistance with Online Registration process is invited to complete the paper student registration forms instead and bring them with all of the required documentation to one of the scheduled Centralized Student Registration events listed in the New Student Registration section below.    

Required documents for ALL Students:

  • Proof of Residency is needed for students that have moved or are attending a new campus in the district for the 2023-2024 school year.

  • One Proof of Residency - a mortgage or lease agreement, or a recent utility bill from the electric, gas, water or cable company associated with your residence. This document must be current, dated within 30 days of registration. If you don't own or rent the residence where you live, complete this form: Address Affidavit (English) / Address Affidavit (Spanish) and upload it with other

  • An Immunization Record is needed if updates were made recently.

Parents of students with any medical needs/concerns, please communicate medical needs with your campus nurse.

Beginning August 1, 2023, Online Registration for Returning Students will NO longer be available and registration will have to be completed at the child's assigned campus.

New or Returning Students entering All Grades

  • Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM On-site at Huntsville High School, 515 FM 2821 East

  • Friday, July 28, 2023 from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM On-site at Huntsville High School, 515 FM 2821 East

  • Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM* at Huntsville High School, 515 FM 2821 East
    *Held In Conjunction with the Community Praise Ministry Back to School Free School Supply Giveaway event.

Notes:
On-site centralized registration is held in one location for any New (or Returning student needing assistance) enrolling in any grade for the 2023-2024 School Year.  While New Student registration is primarily for parents/guardians of NEW students entering the district, we welcome any parent who would prefer in-person registration using paper registration forms.  

All centralized registration will be held at Huntsville High School.  On-site registration will be with paper registration forms only.  Paper forms can be found in the section below or obtained from any campus front office or the Hawkings Administration Building.  Please download and complete the appropriate registration forms from the section below ahead of time and bring them with you to the registration event of your choice with all other required enrollment documentation. 

  • All children will need to be supervised by the parent/guardian during the registration process.

  • Please limit the number of people attending registration, if possible.

Enrollment Criteria & Required Documentation

UPDATED LIST OF REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION NEEDED FOR REGISTRATION: 

NEW Student to the District:

  • Parent/Guardian identification - driver's license, passport, or other federal or state identification card

  • Student's Birth Certificate

  • Student's Shot Record - this is a requirement to complete registration

  • Student's Social Security Card

  • Proof of Residency - The items listed below will be used to show proof of residency.

    • Current Utility Bill - Water, Gas, or Electric

    • Deed of Trust

    • Property Tax Statement

    • Unexpired Lease Agreement showing the physical address
      *If the proof of residency document is not in the parent/guardian's name, then the person listed on the document must be present with proof of identification.
      *A post office box address does not meet the requirement for proof of residency.

Pre-Kindergarten Registration Information:

  • Students must qualify for pre-kindergarten

  • Proof of Income is required to determine eligibility.

    • A July paystub will be required in August to determine eligibility

    • If a student does not qualify, an affordable tuition-based PreK is available on a limited basis

Pre-Kindergarten tuition in Huntsville ISD is currently set at $400/month for those who do NOT meet the eligibility requirements.

RETURNING Student to the District:

  • Parent/Guardian identification - driver's license, passport, or other federal or state identification card

  • Parent email address

  • Student's Updated Shot Record - this is a requirement to complete registration

  • Student's Social Security Card

  • Proof of Residency for incoming 5th, 7th and 9th grade students, only - The items listed below will be used to show proof of residency.

    • Current Utility Bill - Water, Gas, or Electric

    • Deed of Trust

    • Property Tax Statement

    • Unexpired Lease Agreement showing the physical address

 **Huntsville ISD offers transportation to students, free breakfast for all students and free lunch for those who qualify.**

Visit the Transportation Department page to request Bus Transportation for your child. 
Note:  Students who were active registered bus riders on the last day of the 2022-2023 school year, do not need to re-register to ride the bus for the 2023-2024 school year.  Students who were not previously signed up to ride do need to register.
