Serving at Texas City High School, where he was named Assistant Principal of the Year in 2020. Holding leadership roles at Sealy Junior High and Klein High School, where he was recognized as Campus Assistant Principal of the Year and Klein ISD Assistant Principal of the Year for 2022–2023. Working in Title I campuses, where he developed a reputation for student-centered leadership and collaborative team development.

Mr. Gilbert is guided by his personal leadership philosophy, which he calls the “Big Three”:

Accountability Through Transparency

These core principles drive his work and reflect his belief that strong, intentional leadership begins with trust, clear communication, and a shared commitment to academic and personal excellence for all students.

Mr. Gilbert is also recognized for leading professional learning initiatives, building high-functioning teams, and cultivating a positive campus culture focused on continuous improvement and innovation.

“I look forward to and am excited about joining the Hornet family and leading the high school,” said Mr. Gilbert. “I look forward to building relationships with students, staff, and the community.”
