Dear Huntsville ISD staff, parents, and community:
Last night at our Board of Trustees meeting, we unanimously voted to select Thompson & Horton, LLP as our superintendent search consulting firm. We are committed to finding the next leader of our district and doing so in a timely and transparent manner. This firm has guided districts in close to 200 superintendent searches, and David Thompson and Dr. Mike Moses will lead our effort.
Over the next few months, trustees and the firm will work together to gather community and staff input through focus group meetings and an online community survey, providing all of you the opportunity to share the characteristics you would like to see in our next leader. We’ll provide updates along the way with a goal to review applications, interview candidates and name a new superintendent that would begin their tenure in Huntsville ISD in July 2026.
We believe that the position of Superintendent of Huntsville ISD will be highly desired by educational leaders, with individuals applying that have strong experience and significant qualifications. Huntsville ISD has made great strides over the past 8 years and we feel confident that this will be an attractive opportunity for a high quality pool of candidates.
We also know that the selection of the next Huntsville ISD Superintendent is an important responsibility, and we are committed to the process laid out before us.
