Mance Park Middle School
Mr. Don Jackson, Principal
May 24, 2025
Dear Mance Park Families,
Greetings! My name is Don Jackson, and I am honored and excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Mance Park Middle School.
Let me start with a promise: I will never stop encouraging your child to become the best version of themselves. That belief is at the heart of everything I do—and it will guide every decision I make as we move forward together.
I believe school is not just about passing classes; it’s about preparing for life. True success doesn’t happen overnight. It comes from consistent effort, meaningful practice, and a strong foundation built on character, values, and learning.
That leads to my second promise: I will never stop having high expectations for your child’s academic growth. Not just because I believe they are capable, but because I want them to graduate high school with real choices and real opportunities. That journey starts now—in middle school.
I understand that middle school can be a tough season. It’s tempting to stay in a comfort zone. But I also know this: students want to feel safe, seen, supported—and challenged. That’s why we will work hard to build a school culture rooted in kindness, understanding, and accountability. Every classroom should be sacred ground—a space where mutual respect allows the teaching and learning process to flourish. My goal is to help students develop the habits of looking, listening, and learning—without distractions.
Here’s my third promise: I will never lower my expectations for your child’s attendance, behavior, or personal growth. I want them to understand the power of showing up each day, practicing self-control, building confidence, and developing discipline. These qualities don’t just prepare them for school—they prepare them for life.
We’re working to build a culture of unity here at Mance Park—a community of young people who are hungry to grow spiritually, emotionally, and intellectually. That’s why we will aim high and dream big. Our students deserve to think big and live with purpose.
To support that vision, we will focus on the 7 A’s of Mance Park—our blueprint for success:
Ambition – Dare to move closer to your goals every day
Attendance – Get up. Show up. Step up
Attitude – Practice self-control and discipline
Academics – Stay engaged and respect the classroom
Attention – Look. Listen. Learn—without distractions
Accountability – Own your actions and opportunities to grow
Appearance – Represent yourself, your family and your school with pride and purpose.
Here’s my final promise: Your child may come home and say, “Mr. Jackson is always pushing me to do better.” And they’ll be right. Because I believe in their potential, I care deeply about their future, and I will never stop loving them and believing in them.
But I don’t believe in just holding school—I believe in having school. This will take consistency, structure, support, and love. So I’m asking you to join us. Let’s team up. Let’s be firm, let’s be fair, and let’s lift up our students—together.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve your family. I look forward to meeting you, working with you, and building an academic culture that we can all be proud of.
May the remainder of your summer be safe, joyful, and filled with great memories. Let’s be ready to grow together when we return on August 13th.
With gratitude and excitement,
