ATTENTION: Important Change for School Meals in 2022-2023
ATTENTION!
Meals No Longer Free for All Students in the 2022-2023 School Year
- Federal waivers providing FREE meals for all students the last 2 years have now expired.
- Parents must complete an application for students to be eligible for Free or Reduced meals.
- The online free and reduced application opens July 30, 2022. www.myschoolapps.com
IMPORTANT CHANGE TO 22-23 SCHOOL MEALS:
Hornet Parents there has been a change in Free or Reduced Price School Meals for the 2022-2023 school year.
If you have not submitted an application for your child(ren) this current school year, please do so IMMEDIATELY and BEFORE the THURSDAY, September 22, 2022 DEADLINE.
Breakfast and Dinner at school will continue to be offered free to ALL students, regardless of eligibility, but school lunches will not. Beginning this FRIDAY, September 23, students who are not approved to receive free or reduced price school meals this year will be charged full price for lunch.
Please use the online application form at https://www.myschoolapps.com or find the link on the School Meals page. Applying online is much more efficient and faster. Paper applications are also available from any HISD campus, the Child Nutrition Services Department @ 1010 7th Street or downloaded from the HISD website under the School Meals tab.
