Parent Access to State Testing Information (STAAR and TELPAS)

  • STAAR Score Online Access for Parents and Guardians

    Parents can access their child’s results online by following the steps below:

    Step 1:  Go to www.texasassessment.gov.

    Step 2:  Click on Log In to Student Portal

    Step 3:  Enter Access Code and your child’s date of birth and click Go.  The access code can be found at the bottom of your child’s STAAR Confidential Student Report from prior years. If you do not know your child’s Access Code, click on Lookup Access Code. You will be prompted to enter your child’s first name, PEIMS ID (social security number or state ID), and date of birth.

    The New STAAR Report Card
    The Texas Education Agency publishes STAAR report cards for all students every year. These STAAR report cardsare often referred to as Confidential Student Reports (CSR). To improve communication and transparency with educators and families, TEA has conducted an overhaul of the STAAR report card.  The goal of the redesign is to create a family-friendly report on student progress, specifically highlighting growth and improvement as much as proficiency, while giving parents concrete tools to help with student learning.

    Annotated Sample STAAR Report Card: The STAAR Report Card is now a folded booklet.  Browse the different sections of the student report to get a sense of what the booklet will entail.  Each sectio provides more details on how you can use the new report as a tool to improve student learning and achievement.

    STAAR Report Cards For Each Grade: This link provides access to example templates for the new STAAR Student report Card for each grade 3-11.

    Recommended Booklists: One of the most exciting features of the new STAAR Student Report is a recommended book list provided to each family along with the student's test scores and Lexile information. All books recommended on these lists are within the reading levels recommended for the grade the student is in and developmentally appropriate for the grade band. 

    What To Ask Your Child's Teacher: In Grades 3-8, the STAAR Report Card includes tips for parents to get the most out of a parent-teacher conference.

    What To Ask Your Child's Counselor: In high school, the STAAR Report Card provides advice on preparing for college or a career. Rather than including tips on getting the most out of parent-teacher conferences, the back cover includes suggested questions to ask a high school counselor, which vary by grade level.

    Online Tools and Resources: Parents will have access to new tools to learn more about their child's results on STAAR and be provided resources to drive performance. Using a unique ID code, parents will be able to login to a secure student portal to learn more about their child's score and what to do to help their child succeed.
