WELCOME TO 5TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES AND MY CLASSROOM!

I graduated from the University of Houston in Victoria with my Bachelor's degree in 2004.  I will be starting my 11th year here at Huntsville Intermediate School, my fifth year in 5th grade Social Studies. I previously taught 6th grade math.  I LOVE teaching American History.  We are going to have so much fun!  We will be reading, working in cooperative groups, role playing, creating projects and keeping a journal in this classroom.  By the time you leave this year, you will be an expert in early American history!!

A little bit about me -                                                  

♥  I have 6 children, but I am already an empty nester.  I am very proud of my children.  Several children are EMTs as was I and my youngest is a 911 dispatcher.

♥  I love coffee!!  If you see me in the morning, I am probably carrying a cup of coffee with me or one is close by.

♥  I love giraffes!  I think they are such a regal animal, but so gentle in their nature.

♥  I love to laugh.  Tell me a funny story or a good joke.

♥  I love dogs.  I have several small dogs at home; a toy American Eskimo and a Chihuahua.  I've also had a standard poodle that even came to school with me several times when I was teaching 6th grade math.
