Coach Lopez

Degrees and Certifications:

Coach Lopez

My name is Carlos Lopez and I teach Spanish I, Spanish II and Spanish for Native Speakers here at HHS. I am also the Head Girls Soccer Coach. I was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. My family relocated to Waco, Texas when I was eleven years old in 2006. I graduated from Waco High School in 2013 and from SHSU in 2017 with a Bachelors Arts degree in Spanish and Secondary Education.

Growing up partially in both Mexico and in the United States allowed me to experience both cultures at first hand. This helped me grow an interest for cultures and pursue a career on the same subject. My goal is to share my love for culture and the Spanish language with my students and hopefully initiate the same interest on them. My ultimate goal is for my students to take what they've learned in my class and apply it beyond the classroom.

I am looking forward to working with you as a parent/guardian to make sure your child is academically sucessful. Please do not hesitate to contact me at with any questions, concerns or comments. On email, please include your name, your relationship with the student and your question, concern or comment.
