Velvia Keithley is originally from Mexia, Texas.  She was educated at Mexia High School, and attended the University of Texas at Austin and Sam Houston State University, receiving a BA in English and Journalism in 1998.

Mrs. Keithley attended Texas Tech University and earned a Master of Fine Arts in Acting and Directing in 2007.

She has been teaching for 17 years, and has been happy to be a Hornet for 12 years.  She is happily married to David Keithley, and the proud mother of Ashlea (HHS 2010) and Johanna (HHS 2019) and the deliriously proud Nana to Miles (HHS 2037).
