Hello!  My name is Jonathan Gallen and I am excited about the 2018-2019 school year.  I graduated from Copperas Cove High School in 2000.  I attended Central Texas College from 2000-2002 and graduated with an A.S. in Mathematics.  I then transferred to Sam Houston State University in 2002, and graduated in 2004 with a B.S. in Political Science (Mathematics minor).  I then attended graduate school at Sam Houston State University and received a M.A. in Political Science in 2006.  I taught Political Science/Government at both Sam Houston State University and Lone Star College (Montgomery) from 2005-2007 before arriving at Huntsville High School.  I substitute taught in Huntsville I.S.D. during the 2007-2008 school year.  I was a permanent substitute at HHS for Physics/IPC from April-June 2008.  I received my teaching certification in 8-12 mathematics during the time I was a substitute teacher in H.I.S.D.  I was then hired to be a fulltime teacher starting in August 2008.  I have previously taught Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus.  This year I am teaching AP Calculus and Pre-AP Pre-Calculus.  I am also the Math Department Chair, the UIL Academic Math Team Coach, as well as the Assistant Men's Soccer Coach!
