Every student matters!  Every moment counts!

Here is my ...WHY?

The person who influenced me the most to become an elementary school teacher was my son.  He endured several medical issues as a child that affected his learning, as well as being diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD.  It was difficult for him in the classroom, and not everyone involved in his education understood or empathized with his struggles. Even though he was not strong academically, he was extremely bright and intelligent when it came to music, or making creations with his hands.  Despite these wonderful talents, he was still made to feel like he was not a successful person or student. During this time, I was working on my Bachelor’s degree, and decided to pursue my teacher certification. I made it my goal and mission to help children like my son. I want them to  know and feel that they are special, unique, and loved for who they truly are. I strongly believe every child possesses a skill or talent, and that they can be successful in and out of the classroom.

P.S.  My son was able to graduate from high school, and several years later decided to attend college.  He received his Bachelor's Degree in Recording Arts from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida.  He is now a successful Audio Engineer.
