Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! I am looking forward to my third year at Scott Johnson Elementary and excited to see how "my kids" have grown and grown up over the summer. At Huntsville ISD, and at Scott Johnson we are talking about and sharing why we became teachers and why we continue to do what we do and how important it is for us to remember our why. Here's my why:
"When I was in school, I was quiet and shy and rarely got in trouble. I was good enough at academics that I didn’t need tutoring, but no one really pushed me to discover my talents, so when I graduated from high school, I had no idea what to do with my life. After years of struggling to find the right career path, I took a substitute teaching job and FELL IN LOVE with it!!! I knew I had found my piece of Heaven. Now I want to be that teacher who reaches students that might otherwise fall through the cracks. I want to show them that they can achieve well beyond where they think they can go and help them discover their talents and pursue their dreams."
Please enjoy the photo gallery I made of your students in our classroom.
I have also added links to websites that we will be using in the classroom and that students can use at home. You can also keep up with what's going on at Scott Johnson and HISD by checking out the Community links.
Your comments and questions are always welcome! The easiest way to reach me is by email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
