Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! My name is Marsha Stringer and I am the counselor at Scott Johnson Elementary. I grew up in Huntsville and graduated from Huntsville High School. I am a proud Hornet! I received my bachelor's degree from Texas A & M University (WHOOP!) and my masters in counseling from Lamar University. I taught in Huntsville ISD for 20 years and this is my sixth year as the counselor at Scott Johnson. I am blessed to work with wonderful staff members and students!
As the counselor at Scott Johnson, I counsel students individually and in groups. I am the 504 coordinator and assist with state testing. I am responsible for our character education and social skills programs. I also oversee the SJE Kindness Club, SHSU mentoring program, and Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) Program. To find out more about Watch D.O.G.S., go to the Watch D.O.G.S. page.
SJE will continue to have a Kindness Club this school year. Members of the Kindess Club are chosen by their peers and have great responsibility. The Kindness Club is responsible for promoting kindness throughout the school. This year, members of the Kindness Club will welcome new students, establish and organize ways to spread kindness, recognize those showing kindness, help promote our character ed and social skills programs, and will host two schoolwide service projects.
Please feel free to contact me anytime if you have any questions or concerns.
