This is my 5th year teaching, and my 3rd in Huntsville ISD! I graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2012 with a Bachelor of science degree in Kinesiology, with a minor in Health (Eat ‘em up, Kats!). I taught health and PE for 2 years at Livingston High School and was the girls head soccer coach, as well as an assistant volleyball coach. After having my second daughter, I realized that I needed to step away from coaching and spend more time with my family, and learned that my heart belonged to teaching younger aged children (& I love the 4th grade age!)
I am also a graduate school student at the University of Texas at Arlington! I began work on my master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction with an emphasis on mathematics in January 2018.
I married my husband, Stephen (who is also a Bearkat), in 2011. We have 2 daughters! Taylor is 3 and Carlee is 2. I also have an 11 year old stepson, Evan and a cat named Mr. Whiskers. In our spare time, we attend SHSU football games, and spend our Saturdays in the Fall tailgating and supporting our Bearkats! I represent the community of Huntsville through service in the Huntsville Junior Service League. We are also part of a BBQ cookoff team and active in our church! I love to spend time with my girls, my husband, and with family and friends! I also love to workout, do crafts, drink coffee, shop and play soccer!
