“The KEY to Succeed Begins With ME”

S.W.H.E. Mission StatementSamuel Walker Houston Elementary is an educational family who is committed to the safety and the success of all students.  Through engaging and rigorous learning opportunities, our students will become problem solvers and attain success by becoming independent and lifelong learners.

H.I.S.D. Mission Statement:
All students thrive as lifelong learners and global citizens prepared for the futures they create.  Be Kind! Be Responsible! Be Respectful!
Dear Parent/Guardian,
The eight keys to success are happening in our classroom. We are on the third key to success and I'm happy to announce almost every one of my students has earned their first key "Integrity" - knowing what to do even when no one is watching.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. I appreciate the impact you make every day in your child's life.
I use Live School daily in my classroom. Here is the link: Live School. Live School allows me to give positive rewards. Another thing it lets me do is to send photos of activities we are doing in our classroom using a safe portal. The passcodes were sent home on Friday, Sept. 8th.

We would love to hear from you if you have any questions and/or concerns. The students have a RED daily homework folder to take home. Homework goes home every Friday to allow extra time to work on their assignments.

If you are interested in checking your child's grades more frequently, please call the school and ask them to help you set up Home Access Center! You will need a code from our PEIMS administrator, Ms. Colunga.
