Ways for Parents to Connect

There are a variety of ways parents, students, and stakeholders to get connected to the district in order to receive important news and information.  Here are just a few:

The H factor - a Blog of the HISD Teaching & Learning Department.

SchoolMessenger - This is a mass automated Phone Calling & Email System used by the district to communicate important information and reminders to parents.  Using the primary phone number(s) and email address you have on file at the campus for your student, we will send out automated calls and emails as needed.   Please be sure to keep your contact information updated with your student's campus.

KSAM-FM 101.7 Radio - We advertise locally with KSAM to share important information with parents, students and the community.  During the school year we also record a weekly radio show, The Hornets' Nest where we discuss the hot topics of the week and share important campus and district news.  Tune in each Wednesday @ 3:10 pm.

Huntsville Item Newspaper - We advertise with the local newspaper to share important items of interest.  You will find listings in the "Best Bets" section as well as periodic advertisements and circular inserts as required.
Postcards Magazine - We advertise in the Postcards Magazine - Piney Woods Edition.  You will find interesting feature stories, Star Students & Teachers spotlighted as well as calendar items of interest to parents.
