Dear Parents-
This year we've been using an exciting educational game for math called Prodigy. While we will be using the program during school hours, students can play with the same character at home to supplement their practice. Help your child by registering for a free parent account. Your student will bring home a login letter today with information on how to register!
Great news! My classes have been paired with a Houston area teacher and classroom that was affected by Hurricane Harvey. If you are at all able to, please consider donating school supplies such as:
  • pencils
  • crayons
  • markers
  • composition books
  • spirals
  • scissors
Thank you so much for your support! The 4th grade classroom we are paired with is at Raul C. Martinez Elementary!
The district will resume normal operations at all campuses and facilities on Tuesday, September 5.
Please be sure to look for my monthly classroom newsletters at the beginning of each month in your child's green daily folder. You will find important information, dates to remember and what concepts your child is learning that month. You can also click on the 'Newsletters' tab on the right hand side of my webpage to view them as well.
Just a reminder:

Huntsville ISD schools will remain CLOSED for the rest of this week due to inclement weather and emergency shelter-related purposes. The district will also be closed on Monday, September 4 for the Labor Day holiday. If we decide there is a need to cancel or delay school beyond Monday, you will receive additional notification from Huntsville ISD communication channels. Otherwise, please plan for normal district operations to resume on Tuesday, September 5.

Please be safe. If you need shelter or assistance to evacuate from your home, please call 936-435-8035.

Don't forget about our Meet the Teacher event on Monday, 8/14 from 4:30-6:30pm. I am looking forward to meeting you all!
The last day of school for the 2016-2017 school year will be on Wednesday, 5/24/17. There will be an early release that day, so HES will be dismissing at 1:30pm.
