Huntsville ISD has prepared for all scenarios and plans to return to school this 2022-2023 school year with normal operations at full capacity with traditional in-person instruction. 

We continue work in direct contact with the Walker County Health Authorities and the Texas Department of State Health Services as we continue to monitor COVID-19 and other communicable diseases and their impact on Walker County and the surrounding area.  

We continue to encourage some COVID-19 safety precautions, which include extra cleaning and disinfecting of our buildings and buses, encouraging the frequent use of hand washing and hand sanitizer, and social distancing where practical.  These efforts have proved extremely effective in fighting the spread of COVID-19 within our school district. 

Wearing face masks for students and staff will be completely optional and strongly encouraged for any individual who has tested positive and for the 5 days immediately following any required period of isolation / quarantine. 

The most current version of the Hornet Return to School Plan for 2022-2023 is posted below to include any updates that may need to be made during the school year for necessary revisions.
