Child Nutrition During COVID-19 Pandemic

    Grab & Go Meals will be provided to Children during COVID-19 Closure

    Huntsville ISD will provide Free Lunch Distribution to ALL Huntsville area Children (ages 0-18 years old) during the COVID-19 Closure.  COVID-19 Closure Meal Service will end on Thursday, May 21, 2020.

    Distribution opportunites are available via the Green Hornet Food Bus as well as CURBISDE at all HISD campuses except Huntsville Intermediate.  Meal sacks will include lunch items for that day as well as breakfast items for the next. 

    Additionally, on TUESDAYS HISD Buses will be delivering multi-meal packs to children.  Starting at 2 PM HISD Buses will follow the regular MORNING ROUTE (stopping at all regular AM & PM stops) with the exception of 4 designated common locations where there will be delivery at a set time. If you are not familiar with HISD Bus routes you should go to one of the common locations listed.  To see schedule with locations and times click link below.

Instructional Opportunities for use during COVID-19 Closure

  • We recognize the importance of continuing your child’s academic progress during this unscheduled break from school. Extended learning resources have been created for use during the COVID-19 school closure. The launch of our Hornet Instructional Opportunities started with Phase 1 - Hornet Instructional Assignments for student review and enrichment followed by Phase 2 - Hornet Instructional Assignments for new instruction and grades taken for assignments beginning the week of April 13.  All online content instruction will take place through our learning management system, Google Classroom.  Links with details for Elementary and Secondary are available at:

    Please frequently check parent/student school emails (check SPAM folder, too) and monitor the district website, teacher webpages and Google Classrooms for updated information as it becomes available throughout the closure.
