During the 2019-2020 school year we launched a brand new volunteer registration process and have been very proud of the overall positive response!**Registering to volunteer is an annual process and must be renewed each school year.

Application Procedures
Background Check (required)
- Applicants must be cleared successfully in order to volunteer at Huntsville ISD.
- Applicants will receive an email after completing the application (Raptor System).
- Applicants will receive a second email with a status notification (check SPAM folder).
Candidates who were previously cleared will need to re-submit their information annually within 30 days from the date they were originally cleared.**Being cleared does not guarantee a volunteer opportunity.Click Here to Enter Your Background Check Information
When reporting to volunteer, make sure to bring an acceptable form of ID (see examples below), sign in at the front desk, and wear your VOLUNTEER name tag that is given to you. These name tags must be printed every time a volunteer reports at a Huntsville ISD building and must be returned to the front office staff upon leaving the facility. Volunteers are encouraged to self-report hours using the Volunteer Portal.*We will process all applications with background checks as soon as possible.Thank you for serving the students of Huntsville ISD!

Volunteer Opportunities
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES VARY BY CAMPUS NEEDS, DATES, AND OTHER VARIABLES. PLEASE REMEMBER TO SIGN IN AT YOUR APPROVED CAMPUS AS A VOLUNTEER (NOT AS A VISITOR). IF VOLUNTEERING OUTSIDE OF REGULAR SCHOOL HOURS, PLEASE CREATE AN ACCOUNT ON RAPTOR AND SELF REPORT YOUR HOURS.
- Serve as a mentor, chaperoning school trips
- Help with school work
- Monitor students during lunch
- Help the office staff
- The opportunities in how you can serve are nearly endless
Huntsville ISD Volunteers Include:
- Any adult who works directly or indirectly with students.
- Any college student who is participating in an organized field experience or observing students.
- Any community member or business member who works with students.
- Any adult chaperone accompanying a school-sponsored field trip or providing supervision for a school event at which there is direct contact with students. (Field Trips, Field Day, Band & Choir Parents, Extracurricular Travel, Dances/Prom, Book Fairs, any other school-related events).
- Members of the PTO and Booster Clubs, Parent Advisory Councils.
- Visitors at Huntsville ISD schools DO NOT need to complete the Huntsville ISD Volunteer Application Process but must adhere to the District's visitor policies and guidelines.
Other Volunteer Opportunities:- A Time 2 Read - Formerly known as Arise2Read of Walker County is a literacy program that allows volunteers from various churches, local businesses, and civic clubs to take an active role in the lives of our children. Working in partnership with the school district, the primarly focus of A Time 2 Read is to strengthen 2nd grade students and enable them to enter 3rd grade reading on grade level. - Men of Men Mentoring Program - A mens group intended to mentor and build up identified childen within the district who could benefit from a strong male influence. To learn more about joining this group Click HERE or contact their President, Terrence Bell @ 936-581-2836.

Identification Document Examples
Acceptable identification documents include (but are not limited to) official US Government issued ID, Texas driver license, Texas ID, Mexican Consulate Cards, official foreign nation government issued cards with a 2D barcode, and most passport and consular CARDS (not books) that have an MRZ code.Los documentos de identificación aceptables incluyen, entre otros, credenciales oficiales emitidas por el gobierno de los Estados Unidos de America, licencia de conducir del estado de Texas, identificación oficial del estado de Texas, tarjetas del consulado mexicano, tarjetas emitidas por el gobierno nacional extranjero con un código de barras 2D y la mayoría de las tarjetas consulares y tarjetas pasaportes (no se refiere al libro rectangular comúnmente emitido) que cuenten con un código MRZ.
