Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Yide Cai and I've been working as a teacher at Huntsville High School for a year now. I am full Chinese. My mother is from Northern China (Dongbei) while my father is from Central China (Anhui). I was born in Lubbock, Texas, and grew up most of my life in Houston. I grew up loving computers and engineering. At the age of 16, I volunteered as a math tutor at my high school. When I entered college, I would spend most of my time tutoring foreign exchange students with their English and help work with high school students one-on-one with their core subject. These past experiences has helped be develop my skills as a teacher and built the foundation for my teaching career. I seek to learn every day and I expect my students to have the same attitude in my class. I look forward to teaching this year of 2019-2020 at Huntsville High School!
My hobbies includes fishing, hiking, cooking, and programming.
I teach the following courses:
-Computer Programming I
-Computer Programming II
-Principles of Information Technology
-Practicum of Information Technology
I have a very strong passion with working with computers hardware and software. I believe technology is changing the world for the better and worse. Students in my class will have access to computers and other devices, and as they continue to expand their knowledge and obtain Industry Credentials, they will be able to make a difference in the field of technology. I received my Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science at Sam Houston State University, and I am working on an Alternative Teaching Certificate in the State of Texas. My goal is to prepare my students for a career in Computer Science, Information Technology, and Cybersecurity.
