Public Education Grant (PEG) Notice
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) requires school districts to notify parents of the requirements of the Public Education Grant (PEG) Program authorized under Texas Education Code, Chapter 29, Subchapter G, §§29.201 - 29.205. Effective for the 2021-2022 school year, the PEG list identifies campuses that received an F rating in both the Student Achievement and the School Progress domains in 2019 accountability. Due to COVID-19, TEA has repeated the prior year list and kept Stewart Elementary on the PEG list. See parent letter below:

The HISD Board of Trustees meets each month to conduct their regular monthly meetings. The Board welcomes district stakeholders and the general public to attend in person or view the meeting live stream via the HISD YouTube Channel. An archived copy will also be posted on the Board of Trustees webpage following the meeting. Next Meeting(s): Special Called - Tuesday, June 13 @ 12:30 PM; and Regular Meeting - Tuesday, June 20 @ 6 PM.

The district will be CLOSED on Monday, June 19 in observance of the Juneteenth holiday. We will follow Normal Working hours for the rest of that week.
