W. Houston Garden Club
(established August, 2000)
Garden Club collects used cell phones and printer cartridges through the Cartridges for Kids Program. The funds raised go towards seeds, plants, and garden items to help our community feed the hungry. All vegetables raised in our garden go to Good Shepherd Mission. Thank you for helping us raise money and help the environment through recycling. By collecting funds through Cartridges for Kids, Try2Recycle, and other donations Garden Club Members are helping keep their environment clean.
Mission Statement:
To provide the students of Samuel W. Houston Elementary School with a learning experience which spreads throughout the community by engaging in planting seed crops and flower gardening. This will provide a community commitment which will continue long after the last crop is harvested.
